Ramsey Dobson Style 12-inch
This is a new Dobson-style banjo from Mike Ramsey, using Dobson aesthetics, with a rolled brass tone ring.
This banjo has the warm, plunky sound Mike's banjos are known for. This is also the first banjo I have seen from Mike using white ash for the neck.
With hardshell case, this beauty is only $1300 . Sold

The neck on this banjo is 1-piece white ash, with a reddish stain. Note the full, "Dobson-style" heel shape.

The scooped ebony fingerboard has a simple MOP dot inlay pattern, with a stylized flower at the 5th fret and a neat star burst at the 12th.
|
 |
The simple peghead shape is also characteristic of the "Dobson-style," and adds a touch of "tradition"!

Mike has used 5-Star brand planetary tuners on the banjo in stock.

The 12-inch maple pot has a rolled brass tone ring atop a laminated maple rim.

That instrument has a Renaissance head and has a big, warm sound.

The 12-inch maple pot has been painted black, and has nickel-plated hardware.

In a departure for Mike, this banjo has a one-piece neck made of white ash.
