Gold Tone OT-800 Tu-Ba-Phone
New in 2008, Gold Tone now imports a Tu-Ba-Phone banjo, designed to be a replica of the old Fairbanks and Vega Tu-Ba-Phones. This instrument has the classic sound of a Tu-Ba-Phone, and, as part of Gold Tone's "Old Tone" line; it has the look and feel of a true OT instrument.

The OT-800 is a maple instrument with a warm "mahogany" brown stain.

The scooped ebony fingerboard has a handsome engraved inlay pattern.

The peghead is a variation on the classic Vega shape, and has an engraved star inlaid. The truss rod cover is recessed, and sits flush with the peghead overlay. Planetary tuners are used, of course, and the 5th string tuner is also geared.

The hardware is chrome plated, which means it's corrosion proof! Note the handsome, off-white binding on the pot's lower edge.

The 11-inch pot has a Tu-Ba-Phone-style tone ring.
